When will the graduation assessment be completed? How students will be informed about the results?

The graduation assessment is conducted at the end of your expected graduation term and usually takes one month to process after the grade release. The results shall be released via emails.

How to make up the outstanding graduation requirements?

If you fail to graduate in the expected graduation term, you may register for a further term to make up the outstanding graduation requirements after approval for extending study period.

What are the regulations for degree honours classifications?

Recommendation of each class of degree honours is subject to the student’s satisfaction of the minimum Major GPA and Overall GPA requirements. Please refer to Clause 13.0 of the General Regulations Governing Undergraduate Studies for more details.

If I transfer to another School, will my expected graduation term be extended for making up the courses of the new programme?

Whether your graduation will be delayed depends on the progress of your fulfillment of the graduation requirements. The major courses you have taken from the original programme will be counted towards free elective requirements if they are not included in the study scheme of your new programme. You are advised to consult the School for the study plan.

If I declare a minor, will the total units for graduation be increased?

Graduation requirements are for the assessment of the first major only. Graduation status is confirmed upon fulfillment of the first major programme, regardless of incompletion of minor. Minor will not be shown on the transcript if it has not  been accomplished.

What are the requirements for completing a minor?

If you have declared a minor, you must complete the programme requirements as specified in the study scheme of the minor concerned, as well as the unit requirements stated in Clause 4.4 of the General Regulations Governing Undergraduate Studies.

If the units of a course have been counted for fulfilling the unit requirements of Major Programme, can they also be counted in the requirements of minor?

Subject to the approval of the first and minor programmes, similar courses in the two programmes may be mutually recognized and such courses and units shall be counted in the requirements of both majors/minor. In fulfilling the overall units required for graduation, the units of those courses shall only be counted once. As the course/unit requirements may vary among different programmes, please refer to the study scheme of the minor for more details.
