How to apply for late course add/drop? What materials are required? How can students get the application result?

Late Course Add Application:
1. Application channels and procedures:
Students need to first obtain the opinion of their course instructor(s), and then submit the application materials to the Course Offering School for approval. After approval by the Course Offering School, the application will be reviewed by the students' Home School(s), and finally by the Director of Registry Services.

2. Required application materials:
a. Late Course Add Application Form (available at the reception of Registry Office or Registry Service website) 
b. Opinion of the course instructor regarding the late add application
c. Study Plan
d. Latest unofficial transcript
e. Course schedule
f. Some courses may have special requirements. Please consult the Course Offering School for details.


3. Notification of results:
Registry Office will inform students of the final results by email. If the application is not approved by the Course Offering School, the student will be informed of the result directly by the Course Offering School, and the application form will not be submitted to the Director of Registry Services.

Late Course Drop Application:
1. Application channels and procedures:
Students need to first obtain the consent of their course instructors and the Course Offering School(s) before submitting the application materials to their Home School for approval.

2. Required application materials:
Please refer to the Policy on Late Course Drop  for detailed requirements.

3. Notification of results:
Students' Home School(s) will inform students of the final results by email.

What should students pay attention to when applying for late course add/drop?

1. Before submitting late course add applications, students are suggested to communicate with the course instructors on the teaching progress, assignment progress and assessment scheme, and make their study plan;

2. Applications for late course drop are approved under unavoidable, extraordinary, and unexpected extenuating circumstances that may impede the successful completion of a course.  Students should make full use of the Add/Drop period to attend classes and timely adjust the course arrangement accordingly.
