Qualifications, either gained at other post-secondary institutions or at another programme of studies previously undertaken at CUHK(SZ), or equivalent, and may include:
(a) Courses taken in a previous first degree programme;
(b) Course taken by CUHK(SZ) students on approved exchange programmes;
(c) Course taken by CUHK(SZ) students on summer programmes;
(d) Passes in papers of professional bodies.
1. How to Apply:
Students should submit applications via Student Information System (SIS). The application instruction manual is available at Registry Website . Students should read the University Regulations and instructions of course and unit exemptions carefully before submission, then upload supporting documents as required.
After obtaining endorsement from relevant School Office, applications will be automatically routed to the Registry for final review.
2. Supporting Documents: official transcript and/or certificate, course description/ timetable, updated CUHK(SZ) unofficial transcript and other supported materials (if any) and also bring along the original for verification upon submission of this application.
3. Result:
a. After submission of the online application, the application status can be tracked via SIS. The result of application will be sent to student via notification email.
b. Students can view the total units of credits transfer through the unofficial transcript.
After obtaining endorsement from relevant School Office, applications will be automatically routed to the Registry for final review in five working day.(During peak work periods, such as the beginning and end of semesters, the processing time might be longer)
As recommendations should be made by the Dean of the School or his/her representative responsible for the particular course, subject to general guidelines. Students should consult relevant School Office for the assessment standard.
Student should consult the current major programme whether the transferred credits of previously approved major need re-evaluation.
Approved exemption application cannot be revoked unless in exceptional circumstances beyond the student's control. To apply for revocation, students need to write a formal email to the School Office and Registry with relevant supporting documents(if any).
If students are in doubt about approved/rejected exemption application, they should consult the course offering school at the time of approval/disapproval. If there is indeed an error in the assessment, the application can be resubmitted and the original record will be overwritten.
