How to apply for LEAVE OF ABSENCE for no more than 7 days?

If students wish to take a leave for no more than seven days, s/he should submit the APPLICATION FOR COURSE LEAVE on the Student Affairs Management System(SAMS) with supporting documents for approval.

Students who are applying for leave for medical reasons must also upload a medical certificate signed by a qualified doctor.

Students who are applying for leave for non-medical reasons also need to state the reasons and submit relevant supporting documents.

The application will be reviewed by the course instructor and the School Office. Students can check the application progress on SAMS. The final result of the application(s) will be sent to the students via email.

According to the Clause 8.1 of University General Regulations, a student who has been absent from class or required activities for any period shall be responsible for applying to the teaching staff concerned for permission to make up for any required work missed.

How to apply for LEAVE OF ABSENCE for more than 7 days?

In terms of the University General Regulations, if students wish to take a leave for more than seven days, s/he should submit the APPLICATION FOR LEAVE OF ABSENCE on the Student Affairs Management System(SAMS) with supporting documents for approval.

Students who are applying for leave for medical reasons are required to upload: 1) Medical certificate, 2)study plan during leave period (Study plan for making up the missed lessons during the leave period)  , 3)comments from the course instructors

Students who are applying for leave for non-medical reasons are required to submit 1)related documents, 2)study plan during leave period (Study plan for making up the missed lessons during the leave period) , 3)comments from the course instructors

For leave of absence for more than seven days, the application will be first reviewed by the student's Home School and passed to Registry Office for final decision. Students can check the application status on SAMS. The final results will be released to students via email.
